HAWK Biosystems

www.hawkbiosystems.com ↗ ·Derio ·Series A

HAWK Biosystems is a Derio-based (Bizkaia) biotech company specialising in precision oncology diagnostics. Its proprietary QF-Pro technology measures protein interactions directly in cells and FFPE tissue samples, for biomarker development in translational research and companion diagnostics, including predicting which cancer patients will respond to immunotherapy. It serves pharma companies and research groups, and distributes through partners such as Proquinorte in Spain and Portugal and Axonlab in Europe, with further partners in Australia and Canada. Founded in 2015 as Fastbase Solutions by scientists from the Francis Crick Institute and the Instituto Biofisika (UPV/EHU-CSIC), it was selected for the EIC Accelerator in 2024 (€2.5M grant plus up to €4.5M equity). It later closed a €3.5M round led by Inveready with the EIC Fund and the Basque Fund (SPRI Group), bringing total funding to about €12.5M.
