SAALG Geomechanics is a Barcelona-based geotechnical engineering software company spun out of the Geotechnical Division of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC BarcelonaTech). Its cloud platform DAARWIN digitalises ground data and applies numerical back-analysis and machine learning to predict and monitor soil behaviour in real time during tunnelling, excavation, construction and mining projects. It raised a €3.65M EIC Accelerator round in July 2023 led by ACCIONA and the European Commission, counts Cemex Ventures and Mott MacDonald among its shareholders, and works with clients such as Ferrovial, COMSA, Deutsche Bahn, Transport for London and OHLA.
