Vaxdyn is a Spanish clinical-stage biotech developing vaccines against antibiotic-resistant (AMR) bacterial infections, using a proprietary LPS-null whole-cell platform that targets conserved outer membrane proteins rather than serotype-specific capsules. Founded in 2011 as a spin-off from the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville (IBiS) and the University of Seville, it is headquartered in Dos Hermanas (Seville) and is best known as the first Spanish biotech funded by CARB-X (up to ~$1.01M plus ~$6.36M in milestones); it also won an EIC Accelerator award (~€2.49M, January 2025) to fund Phase 1B/Phase 2 work on lead candidate K VAX.
