Ignion designs and supplies ultra-compact multiband chip antennas and antenna design services for Internet of Things (IoT) and wireless device makers. Its Virtual Antenna technology, built on the Antenna Booster Technology invented by co-founder Jaume Anguera, replaces custom-designed antennas with small off-the-shelf components that work across multiple frequency bands, cutting design time and cost for manufacturers. The technology is used in more than 30 million IoT devices, and the company has teams in Barcelona, Tampa, Shenzhen and Hungary. Ignion was founded in 2015 in Sant Cugat del Vallès by former Fractus engineers. In December 2023 it closed an equity round subscribed in equal parts by Barlon Capital and the European Innovation Council's EIC Fund, and Sabadell Venture Capital has also backed the company.
