Ownmed Innovation
Ownmed Innovation is a Madrid-based medtech spin-off developing Ostofix®, an anti-reflux medical device that lets ostomy patients control when and how they evacuate without surgery, as an alternative to conventional ostomy bags. Founded in June 2021 out of a collaboration between Hospital Gregorio Marañón (FIBHGM), the Fundación Jiménez Díaz research institute (FIIS-FJD) and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, it is pre-revenue and working toward pre-clinical/clinical trials and CE marking under EU MDR 2017/745. It closed a €630,000 seed round in May 2024, is certified as an Innovative SME and has been through the UC3M Science Park incubator and La Nave Madrid's V acceleration programme.
