Hhello.app
hello.app was a Barcelona-based (Sant Cugat del Vallès) Web3 startup building a peer-to-peer decentralized cloud storage network that paid users for unused storage space on their phones, tablets and laptops and resold it as a Dropbox/Google Drive alternative. Founded in 2022 by then-17-year-old Álvaro Pintado with Alexander Baikalov, it raised ~€170k pre-seed (IESE/ESADE angel networks, Castiventures, Bcombinator) plus a €130k ENISA loan, then a €500k round in July 2024 at a €16M valuation, and claimed ~200,000 users. The company is now effectively defunct: in April 2025 an investor filed a fraud complaint against Pintado in a Barcelona court over opaque use of funds and financing irregularities (IESE and ESADE publicly denied ever investing); the website and GitHub went dormant, Pintado moved on to a Singapore hedge fund project, and the hello.app domain itself is now listed for sale on Atom.com for $125,000.
