LeapWave Technologies is a Madrid-based deep-tech company that develops high-bandwidth interconnect technology for millimetre-wave, sub-millimetre-wave and terahertz signals. Its core product is a dielectric waveguide that carries signals from the GHz range up to 1 THz. It is aimed at connecting high-frequency devices in applications such as 5G and 6G communications and the semiconductor industry. The company was founded in September 2022 as a spin-off of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) and is based at the UC3M Science Park. It commercialises technology developed in the EU H2020 Pathfinder project TERAmeasure. Bullnet Capital led its first investment round, UC3M holds an equity stake, and the company has received public funding from CDTI's Neotec and Misiones programmes.
