Spinally Medical

Spinally Medical is a Valencia-based neurotechnology company developing intrathecal spinal cord stimulation (iSCS) devices for patients with chronic pain, in particular incapacitating low back and leg pain. Its first product, FuturaLead, is an ultra-thin, patented stimulation lead implanted in the intrathecal space directly on the surface of the spinal cord. It is designed to deliver more efficient stimulation than conventional epidural leads, record high-quality neural signals for closed-loop therapy, and work with existing pulse generators. The company was founded in 2023 by a team of pain physicians, engineers and biotech executives. In 2024 it raised about €636,000 from 119 investors in an equity crowdfunding campaign on Capital Cell, and in total it has secured about $1.2M in dilutive and non-dilutive funding. It has completed acute and chronic large-animal studies and is preparing for an FDA pre-submission and a first-in-human trial.
