Gguppy
guppy is a Spanish electric carsharing operator that rents 100% electric vehicles priced per kilometre through its mobile app, combining free-floating urban carsharing (Asturias, Cantabria, Madrid) with station-based medium and long-distance rentals (Bilbao, San Sebastián) and one-way interprovincial trips. Launched in 2019 in Gijón by the Asturian industrial group G. Junquera as the region's first carsharing service, it is a growth-stage mobility operator rather than a classic VC-backed tech startup, funded largely by its parent group, EU MOVES Proyectos Singulares grants and Asturias' regional investment vehicle SRP. It scaled nationally by acquiring Astara's GoTo carsharing business in Madrid in December 2024 and adding 250 Dacia Spring cars from the defunct Zity fleet in July 2026, taking it to roughly 1,000 electric vehicles across Spain.
