Patronus

Patronus is a Valencia-based sports-sponsorship platform that used blockchain to tokenise the image rights of young athletes. Companies and retail investors could buy the tokens to fund an athlete's early career, and the tokens could gain value as the athlete reached competitive milestones. Motorcycle racer Marc Vich was the first athlete tokenised on the platform, which also launched an NFT collection for him, and the company took part in Draper University's accelerator programme in San Mateo. Three athletes founded Patronus in Valencia in 2021 with the support of Demium Startups. It raised a €100,000 pre-seed round from a Demium partner fund to build its technology, and it has since ceased operations.
