KKimitec
Kimitec is a Vícar (Almería)-based agricultural biotechnology company that develops and makes natural inputs for farming, including biostimulants, biopesticides and biocontrol products, plus pre- and probiotics for plant nutrition, crop protection and soil health. It is used by growers and agribusinesses as an alternative to synthetic chemistry. Its research is based at MAAVi Innovation Center, a large agri-biotech hub it built next to its production site, and it uses a proprietary AI model in product discovery. It has signed a strategic partnership with Bayer to develop and distribute biologicals worldwide, and it sells in about 70 countries. Félix García and partners founded Kimitec in 2007. Banco Santander took a 5% stake in 2022 through its Fondo Agro Smart. In 2025 the pan-European fund DVC Partners took a majority stake as part of a financial restructuring, with a €10 million capital injection.
