Banco Santander
Banco Santander is a Santander-based global banking group, headquartered at Ciudad Grupo Santander in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid), that acts as a strategic corporate investor in financial technology. It has taken stakes in fintech and payments businesses, most notably a £350M investment in the FX and payments company Ebury in 2019, and it develops payments platforms in-house through PagoNxt and Getnet. Its early-stage fintech venture activity began as Santander InnoVentures, which built a portfolio of 36 start-ups across Europe and the Americas. In 2020 the bank spun that arm out as the independent Mouro Capital with a $400M allocation. The bank also supports entrepreneurs through its Santander X programme.
