NNaturmet
Naturmet is a Spanish biomethane producer, founded in 2021 as a spin-off of the Navarre-based Grupo Oleofat, specialising in the valorisation of agricultural, livestock and agro-industrial waste into renewable biomethane, biofertiliser and biogenic CO2. It has a pipeline of 18 projects under development targeting 1 TWh of annual biomethane production, including the Ólvega (Soria) plant — one of the first in Spain to inject biomethane into the gas grid — and a plant under construction in Valtierra (Navarre). In January 2026 Italian energy-transition fund FIEE SGR took a majority stake via a c. €40M capital increase (Energy Transition Fund III), alongside Spanish PE firm ABE Capital; founder Rafael Lavín remains chairman and a significant shareholder. It is an industrial/infrastructure energy company rather than a tech startup, headquartered in Vitoria-Gasteiz with operations in Navarre, Soria and Extremadura.
