Alpha Unmanned Systems is a Madrid-based aeronautical engineering company that designs and makes tactical unmanned helicopters (rotary-wing UAVs), including the Alpha 800 and Alpha 900. It also supplies ground control stations, communications and control software for defence, security and civil customers. Its systems are used for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, maritime surveillance, border patrol and infrastructure inspection. The company sells in more than eight countries, and its customers include the US Department of Defense and the Spanish Navy, which bought A900 systems for about €1.3 million. Founded in 2014, the company closed its first external seed round in 2023. The round was led by Joseph Menaker, co-founder of UAV Factory, with Tobias Webster and Javier Castaño also taking part.
