SSeafood Legacy Spain
Seafood Legacy Spain is a Galician aquaculture company building Spain's first large-scale land-based Atlantic salmon farm at the Port of Burela (Lugo), using RAS (recirculating aquaculture system) technology with ~98% water recycling and no antibiotics, targeting roughly 3,000-3,500 tonnes of premium salmon per year to cut Spain's dependence on the 70,000+ tonnes it imports annually, mostly from Norway. It is part of the Norwegian Columbi Salmon group and is backed by Norwegian and Spanish investors, with share capital raised above €10.06M after a €4.71M capital increase and roughly €25M in EU co-financing via the EMFAF fund alongside the Xunta de Galicia; total project investment is estimated at €30-80M with construction running from 2025 to 2027. It is an industrial aquaculture/infrastructure project company, and its leadership is a board chaired by Jonny Atle Marøy with Anders Hagen as vice-chair.
