Stemy Energy is a Madrid-based energy technology company that uses artificial intelligence to optimise electricity consumption for residential, commercial and industrial users and energy communities. Its cloud platform aggregates flexible demand from connected users, so they can take part in grid-balancing and demand-response markets. This lowers their energy bills and carbon footprint and helps more renewable generation enter the grid. It was founded in 2018 by engineers and researchers from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, and now runs its flexibility offering under the ProfitFlex brand. Backed by EIT InnoEnergy, the company raised a €1 million seed round in October 2022 led by Capital Energy Quantum, to support its expansion in Spain and the United Kingdom.
