Vermut is a Barcelona-based agetech company that runs a social network and activity platform for people over 55. Through the app, members can join local activities such as meetups, fitness classes and excursions, create their own plans and build communities with other people. Business partners can also run their own communities and activities on the platform. By 2022 the platform reported more than 16,000 registered users and more than 50,000 connections, with active hubs in Barcelona and Madrid. Fernando Dellepiane and Enric Duran, both formerly at Glovo, founded Vermut in Barcelona in 2020 and later set up a US entity, Vermut Senior Community Inc. The company raised €150,000 in 2021 after joining the Lanzadera accelerator. In October 2022, after going through Belgium's Birdhouse accelerator, it raised a €1.5 million round led by BITKRAFT Ventures, with Gaingels, Service Provider Capital and Calm/Storm Ventures also investing.
