WWakeUp & Smile
WakeUp & Smile is a Madrid-based healthtech company that builds a virtual reality therapy platform to help patients manage pain, anxiety and stress during medical treatment. It supplies hospitals, senior residences, schools, dental clinics and companies with VR headsets and tablets. These come with a library of more than 200 therapeutic contents made by its in-house production studio and supervised by psychologists, covering areas such as oncology, dialysis, pre-anaesthesia, physical rehabilitation and mental health. The company has worked with more than 20 hospitals in Spain, Belgium, France and China, including Hospital Universitario Infantil Niño Jesús and Hospital Ruber Internacional, and with partners such as Novartis, the AstraZeneca Foundation and the Ricky Rubio Foundation, reaching more than 75,000 patients. It was founded in 2018 by brothers Jean-François and Sébastien Rouzé together with Ana Aldazabal and David Mancebo, and raised a seed round of about €200,000 from 59 impact investors through the equity crowdfunding platform La Bolsa Social.
