Glasskin

Glasskin is a deeptech spin-off of the Institute of Nanoscience and Materials of Aragón (INMA), a joint centre of CSIC and the University of Zaragoza. It developed a laser-based process that strengthens the mechanical and thermal properties of ordinary flat glass, including panes thinner than 2 mm. The process does not use the harmful chemicals of chemical tempering or the high temperatures of thermal tempering. Its business was the research, scaling, production and commercialisation of treated glass. The company was incorporated in Madrid in December 2020 as Glasskin Tech SL, with backing from the science-focused fund BeAble Capital, which invested €183,400.
