Baula

Baula is a Barcelona-based company that develops, produces and sells eco-friendly cleaning products in the form of concentrated effervescent single-dose tablets. The tablets are dissolved in reusable bottles, which cuts out single-use plastic and lowers transport emissions. The products carry Ecocert certification and are sold to the professional cleaning sector (B2B) and to consumers. The company says they reduce direct cleaning costs by up to 40% and indirect costs by up to 90%. Baula was founded in 2015 by Jordi Caparrós at the Barcelona Science Park, with Midas Clean SL as its operating company. It has signed commercial agreements in 16 countries across Europe, Africa, North America and Oceania, distributes through Bunzl Distribution Spain, and its home cleaning range is sold at El Corte Inglés. In February 2020 it closed a €1.3M round from business angels, national and international family offices and existing shareholders, bringing its total public and private funding to €1.8M. It had previously won the Best Startup award at Keiretsu Forum Barcelona in 2019.
