AAkiles
Akiles is a Barcelona-based proptech company that builds cloud-based access control for properties, letting operators remotely manage digital locks and access permissions for doors, gates, garages, elevators and turnstiles via mobile app, PIN codes and NFC cards. It develops its own hardware and software and serves short-term rental operators, hotels, offices, coworking and coliving spaces, and residential and build-to-rent developments, with customers including Stay U-nique, Badi, Enso Coliving and Altido. The platform has handled more than 100 million access events for over one million users in more than 50 cities, and the company reported around €1 million in revenue in 2022 with operations in Spain, France, the UK, Italy, Germany and Dubai. Akiles was founded in Barcelona in 2017 by the former Verse team members Nicolás Salame, Borja Rossell and Darío Nieuwenhuis, and in 2020 it raised a €600,000 seed round from Kabil Capital and MNext Ventures, the venture vehicle advised by Meridia Capital Partners.
