Roomonitor is a Barcelona-based proptech/IoT company that helps short-term rental operators, property managers and hoteliers prevent incidents in their apartments. Its core product is a privacy-safe sensor (no audio recording) that monitors noise, tobacco smoke, occupancy, temperature, humidity and air quality in real time, paired with a 24/7 remote control centre and field agents in cities including Barcelona, Madrid, Málaga, Seville, Valencia, Lisbon, Paris and Brussels. Founded in December 2015 by brothers Ignacio and Eduardo Suárez, it raised a ~€650K seed round in 2017 led by Banco Sabadell's BStartup10 with the Institut Català de Finances, and was selected by Airbnb to distribute free noise detectors to hosts in Madrid and Barcelona; it now claims 30,500+ apartments monitored across 60+ countries.
