Symborg is a Murcia-based agricultural biotechnology company that develops, produces and sells microbiological products for farmers, including biofertilisers, biostimulants and biocontrol solutions that improve nutrient efficiency and crop yields. Its products include the nitrogen-fixing bacterial solutions Utrisha N and BlueN, and it sells in more than 50 countries through subsidiaries in Brazil, Chile, China, France, Mexico, Peru, Turkey and the United States. Founded in 2008 in Murcia by Jesús Juárez and Félix Fernández and incubated at CEEIM, the company grew to more than €40 million in annual revenue and over 150 employees. It was backed by business angels and, in 2020, by the Spain Oman Private Equity Fund (SOPEF) managed by MCH Private Equity; Corteva Agriscience agreed to acquire it in September 2022 and completed the deal in March 2023.
