bnc10 is a Barcelona-based digital neobank that offers consumers a mobile current account, prepaid card, fee-free currency exchange, peer-to-peer payments and shared accounts for groups such as travellers and flatmates, with customer support over WhatsApp and Telegram. Founded in 2018 and launched to the public in 2019, it reported more than 300,000 registered users, over 50,000 active users and more than €40M transacted through the platform. The company has raised about €4M in total, including a €1.6M seed round in 2018 and a €1.1M round closed in November 2020 through Crowdcube, led by Atina Ventures, with more than 750 investors taking part. It used the 2020 round to pursue its own electronic money institution (EMI) licence and to launch new services.
