Next-Tip is a Madrid-based deep-tech company that designs, develops and manufactures high-value probes for scanning probe microscopy, in particular tips for atomic force microscopy (AFM) and tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS). It uses a patented process that coats AFM tips with nanoparticles of controlled size and chemical composition, deposited under ultra-high vacuum. This allows chemical and morphological analysis at the nanoscale, with better resolution, reproducibility and tip lifetime. The company sells these tips as consumables to users of TERS and AFM systems. Next-Tip was founded in 2012 as a spin-off of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and is based at the Parque Científico de Madrid. It raised a €400,000 early-stage investment from BeAble Capital.
