KKutxa Fundazioa
Kutxa Fundazioa is a San Sebastián-based non-profit foundation that continues the social work of the former Gipuzkoa savings bank Kutxa and is a major shareholder in Kutxabank, with a stake of about 32%. It also invests directly in companies in Gipuzkoa to strengthen the region's business base, from deeptech start-ups to established industrial groups. Its focus sectors are industrial technology, digital, health and biotech, and energy transition. As of May 2025 it held stakes in 26 companies, with €373M invested. Its holdings include Irisbond, VIVEbiotech, Polimerbio, Cimico, Multiverse Computing and Oncomatryx, where it committed €15M to a €58M round in 2026. In 2025 it bought all of the technology-industrial group INZU, which has 14 companies. Together with the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, it funds the early-stage deeptech vehicle Deeptek Gipuzkoa Fundazioa, a €5M joint commitment.
