MModoru Biotech
Modoru Biotech is a Valencia-based agricultural biotechnology company that develops RNA-based biopesticides for crop protection. It uses double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) and RNA interference to activate plants' natural defences against viruses, fungi and insects, combined with proprietary nano- and microencapsulation that lowers dose rates. Its lead product is a foliar dsRNA treatment against cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) in cucurbits, and the company also offers B2B encapsulation and RNA development services to agri-food companies. Founded in 2025 by biotechnologist Josemaría Delgado Martín and incubated at AgrotecUV in the Universitat de València Science Park, it won Best Startup at the Almería Agrotech Summit 2026, the KM ZERO Startup Awards 2026 and the ftalks LATAM Startup Awards 2026.
