DDistinkt
Distinkt is a Barcelona-based anti-counterfeiting and product authentication company spun off from the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), in collaboration with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and CSIC. It combines patented nano-engineered fluorescent pigments embedded in industrial inks with smartphone-based machine-learning scanning and blockchain certification to create encrypted QR codes and Digital Product Passports that cannot be copied. Its offering, which also includes the Argus Intelligence supply-chain traceability layer, serves brands in fashion, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and electronics. Founded in 2022 by Luca Venza and Àlex Julià-López, the company took part in the Berkeley SkyDeck Europe accelerator, which invested €145,000, and has received an ACCIÓ Startup Capital grant and a NEOTEC grant, bringing its announced funding to about €580,000.
