BlueGreen Vision is a Barcelona-based greentech start-up that develops biotechnology and digital solutions to regenerate marine ecosystems in port areas. It works through two lines: BlueGreen Regeneration, which uses biostimulation and sediment bioremediation to create microhabitats in degraded port sediments, and BlueGreen Data, which provides real-time monitoring and data-driven sustainability tools. Its customers are ports and maritime operators, which use it to improve water quality, cut pollution, restore biodiversity and meet ESG requirements, and it sells R&D services and SaaS. Founded in 2024 by marine scientist Eva Álvarez, the company won a runner-up award (accésit) for best environmental project in Madrid City Council's 2026 Emprendedoras Awards.
Sells bio-enhancing concrete units and the related project work to ports and coastal infrastructure owners so that their structures grow marine habitat, improve local ecology and meet ESG goals, which is close to BlueGreen's port-regeneration line.
Sells marine-ecosystem restoration (land-based coral farming and reef replanting) as a paid service to governments, coastal developers and corporates under ESG pressure, much as BlueGreen sells biotech regeneration of degraded port seabeds.
Puts biomimetic micro-reefs in port seabeds and monitors the biodiversity gains for ports and offshore operators, which is the closest model to BlueGreen's mix of regeneration and data.
Sells artificial nursery habitats (Biohut) and biodiversity-restoration services mainly to port managers and industrial groups so that degraded harbour seabeds recover their ecological function.
Sells reef restoration as a service, using 3D-printed terracotta reef tiles plus monitoring and impact reporting, to governments and corporates seeking biodiversity and ESG outcomes in degraded coastal waters.
