PPOTS
POTS is a Barcelona-based company that runs a system for reusable packaging. It collects used containers, mainly glass bottles and jars, cleans and sanitises them, and returns them to producers to be used again. Its customers are consumer-goods brands and hospitality businesses, including wine, cava, beer, kombucha and broth producers, and they buy cleaned, reused bottles instead of new ones. The company operates a multi-format washing plant in Sant Andreu de la Barca that can clean 3,000 containers an hour, and it has reused more than 400,000 bottles. Lawyer Marta Sainz founded POTS in 2021, and it has received public innovation support, including PERTE funding for a container traceability system.
