Alter5 is a Madrid-based fintech that runs an AI-driven financing platform. It matches SMEs, mid-caps and renewable energy projects with institutional investors and lenders. Its products include corporate financing, factoring, project finance, debt issuance and EU-backed lending programmes. The platform focuses mainly on mid-market solar, wind, self-consumption and storage projects in Spain and Italy, and has originated and distributed more than €300 million in financing and capital. Miguel Solana, formerly an infrastructure-finance banker at Banco Santander, and serial entrepreneur Salvador Carrillo founded the company in 2020. In 2021 it secured a guarantee of up to €105 million from the European Investment Fund to back a €150 million portfolio of green loans. In October 2026 Mutua Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Grupo Mutua Madrileña, acquired a 10% stake in the company.
