Alterity designs and manufactures modular, custom lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery systems for industrial equipment (AGVs, AMRs, forklifts, lifting platforms), light electric mobility (bikes, scooters, small motorcycles), and stationary/BESS applications, with a circular-economy focus on refurbishable, second-life batteries. Founded in 2018 in the Basque Country by five engineers from a university Motostudent electric-motorcycle team, it has since produced 500+ battery systems (2024) and installed 15+ MWh with over 100 industrial clients across Europe. It is headquartered in Zamudio/Barakaldo (Bizkaia) with a secondary office in Barcelona, ~25-26 employees, and has raised early seed/accelerator funding (Beaz/Seed Capital Bizkaia, a Bolsa Social-facilitated impact round) rather than institutional VC to date.
