Molecular Gate is a Barcelona-based deeptech spin-off of ICMAB-CSIC (Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona) that develops Polargram™, an anti-counterfeiting labelling technology based on printed polarisation contrast in ultrathin plastic films. The printed security features are made with patented semiconductor molecular inks, are effectively impossible to replicate by conventional printing or copying, and can be verified with the naked eye, a common LCD screen or a phone camera — targeting pharma, luxury & fashion, banknotes and consumer staples. Founded in 2022 with backing from BeAble Capital's science-equity fund, it raised a small round co-invested by CDTI Innovación (INNVIERTE) of around €450k.
