It operates as a dual entity — Vocdoni Global, the Barcelona-based for-profit commercializing the voting app and SDK, and the Vocdoni Association, a Swiss non-profit registered in Zug that guarantees the open-source protocol. Founded out of the 2017 Catalan independence movement, it has processed 200,000+ votes for 300+ organizations including FC Barcelona and Barcelona City Council, and raised ~$1M in April 2025 from angel investors to launch DAVINCI, its universal voting protocol.
