Founded in 2021 (legal entity Velada Digital Services SL), it raised €1.075M in October 2022 from international angel investors and monetises via restaurant subscriptions, brand partnerships and a consumer premium tier. It has passed 100,000 downloads, was backed by Basque Culinary Center and accelerated at Tetuan Valley (Google for Startups); in March 2025 it launched 'Velada Genius', an AI restaurant-recommendation assistant.
