Katoo

Katoo is a Madrid-based foodtech company that built a B2B ordering platform linking restaurants with their food and beverage suppliers. Its mobile app replaced phone, fax and paper ordering with digital orders, and it added ERP and POS integrations and financial tools for payments, reconciliation and financing. By 2021 it had more than 5,000 restaurants and suppliers using it in Spain and Italy, with about €190 million in annualised transaction volume. Its customers included I Love Poke, Mawey Taco Bar and Michelin-starred restaurants. Diogo Cunha, Karan Anand and Carlos Esquivel founded Katoo in Madrid in 2019. It raised €3 million in November 2020, backed by Global Founders Capital and Otium Capital. In September 2021 it raised a further €6.2 million in a round led by K Fund, with Expa, FJ Labs, Soma Capital and Shilling joining, bringing its total funding to about €10.7 million. Choco, the food-ordering platform, bought Katoo in January 2023.
