Taima Growth is a Burgos-based company that grows pharmaceutical-grade medical cannabis indoors for the pharmaceutical industry. It is one of four companies licensed by Spain's medicines agency (AEMPS) to cultivate medical cannabis. Its indoor facility in the Ribera del Duero area of Burgos uses controlled-environment, rock wool-based growing to GACP and GMP standards, with 3-5 harvests a year. It targets an initial output of about 1,250 kg a year, rising to as much as nine tonnes, and plans to sell mainly to the UK and German markets. Founder and CEO Mo Alyasini started the project in November 2019. More than €3 million has been invested, all from Spanish investors, including the partners of Aurea Capital Partners. Kanabo Agritec, a subsidiary of Kanabo Group, holds an equity stake linked to the consulting services it provided for the facility.
