VVytrus Biotech
Vytrus Biotech is a Spanish plant-biotechnology company that develops, produces and commercialises high-value natural active ingredients for skin and hair care using plant stem cell 'biofactory' technology at industrial scale. Founded in 2009 as a spin-off of the University of Barcelona's Faculty of Pharmacy and headquartered in Terrassa (Barcelona), it sells in more than 50 countries through international distributors and holds ISO 9001, GMP for cosmetic ingredients and EcoVadis Platinum certifications. It is no longer a private startup: it has traded on Spain's BME Growth SME market (ticker VYT) since 2022, and in a later round raised €2.3M while renewing its shareholder base, with the two founders retaining roughly 34% of the capital.
