A4Cell (legally Arrays for Cell Nanodevices, S.L.) is a Madrid-based biotech spin-off from the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM, CSIC), founded in 2018. It develops SPAchip technology - silicon microparticles that can be internalized into living cells to enable real-time, long-term monitoring of intracellular parameters for drug discovery, aiming to reduce reliance on animal models. The company has raised roughly €5-6M across several rounds (including a €3M round in November 2023) from investors such as BeAble Capital, Dreavent Capital and CDTI Innvierte.
