LLife Length
Life Length is a Madrid-based biotechnology company specialising in telomere and telomerase measurement and telomere-based diagnostics. It was founded in 2010 as a spin-off of the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) to commercialise the Telomere Analysis Technology (TAT) developed by María Blasco, which measures short telomeres chromosome by chromosome in individual cells of blood and tissue samples. The company sells testing services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies for drug R&D and clinical trials, and to the public through physicians and clinics offering biological-age and health indicators; its products include a prostate cancer diagnostic approved in 2022 and the HEALTHTAV test, and it runs a CLIA-certified laboratory in the Madrid area. Its founding capital came from María Blasco, the Botín Foundation and Matlin Associates, and it has since received non-dilutive funding, including €3.1 million from the EU's Horizon 2020 programme for the ONCOCHECK cancer-biomarker project in 2017.
