Calíope
Calíope is a Spanish-language audio app focused on women's sexual wellness. It combines erotic audio stories recorded by professional voice actors with wellness audioguides designed by psychologists and sexologists. The app is sold on a freemium subscription model through iOS, Android and its own website. It was created in 2020 by YouTube creator Rocío Romero (RoEnLaRed) and David Calvo, is operated by Caliope International Entertainment SL from the Madrid region, and reported more than 40,000 registered users and over one million minutes of audio listened in early 2022. In 2022 it closed a €293,000 first round, made up of €163,000 from more than 60 investors via the Startupxplore platform, including Juanjo Mostazo, David Arroyo, David Boronat and Miguel Moral, plus a €130,000 ENISA participative loan.
