foodStories was a Madrid-based foodtech company that ran an online shop for healthy meal kits. Customers chose from a weekly-changing menu of recipes developed with nutritionists and received the exact quantities of seasonal, locally sourced ingredients needed to cook them at home. Orders were packed in recycled paper and returnable glass containers, which the company reused, and deliveries were made with electric vehicles. The company was founded in February 2019 and was the first in Spain to deliver meals at home in reusable packaging. It served more than 15,000 portions and expanded from Madrid to Barcelona. It raised a €200,000 first round from friends-and-family investors in 2020 and later ceased operations.
