Santander Alternative Investments
Santander Alternative Investments is the Madrid-based alternative investment manager of Santander Asset Management, part of Grupo Santander. It was authorised as an asset manager in May 2023, building on an alternatives business started in 2019. It invests across private credit, infrastructure and energy, real estate and multi-strategy vehicles for institutional and high-net-worth clients. Its venture activity centres on the Santander Climate Tech Fund, a 2023-vintage early-stage vehicle co-managed with EIT InnoEnergy and anchored by Banco Santander, which backs European climate-tech start-ups in energy storage, renewables, hydrogen, mobility and the circular economy, including Novatron Fusion Group and Jolt Activated Electrodes; in 2026 the firm led the £10M Series A of Archangel Lightworks.
