Project Lobster (branded PJ.LOBSTER) is a Barcelona-based direct-to-consumer eyewear brand founded in 2018 that designs and sells prescription glasses and sunglasses at transparent, fixed prices, combining an online-native model with its own stores offering free eye exams, virtual try-on and same-day in-store lens cutting. It grew to around seven stores in Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia and reported roughly €3M in 2024 revenue, having raised about €2M across seed/crowd rounds. The company filed for insolvency in November 2025, entered liquidation in early February 2026, and its business was acquired by Dutch eyewear group Ace & Tate in February 2026 — the site now trades as 'PJ.LOBSTER by ACE&TATE', so it is no longer an independent startup and co-founder Oscar Valledor has moved on to AI projects.
