Avançsa
Avançsa (Empresa de Promoció i Localització Industrial de Catalunya) is a Barcelona-based public investment company, founded in 1985 and wholly owned by the Generalitat de Catalunya, that works as an industrial-policy tool of the Catalan government. It invests as a minority co-investor alongside private investors, through equity and participatory loans, in growth-stage Catalan companies that already have revenue. It invests through several lines: Industrial Reactivation, the Innova lines (€0.1–2M per project, up to €8M under Innova Global) covering deep tech, energy transition, mobility and fashion/retail, and an Extraordinary Projects line for strategic investments. At the end of 2024 its portfolio was valued at €153.8M, split roughly equally between equity stakes and loans. Its portfolio includes Idiada, Comforsa, INBRAIN Neuroelectronics, Open Cosmos, X1 Wind, Wiris, Qilimanjaro, Pangea Propulsion, Reveal Genomics and Aortyx.
