IIdealista
Idealista is Southern Europe's leading online real estate marketplace, connecting buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants across Spain, Italy and Portugal, with adjacent services in mortgages (idealista/hipotecas), data and analytics, virtual home staging and vacation rentals (Rentalia, AvaiBook). Founded in Madrid in 2000 and profitable since 2005, it is no longer a venture-stage startup but a private-equity-owned scale-up: EQT bought it in 2020 at a €1.3bn valuation, and in 2024 Cinven agreed to acquire a ~70% stake in a deal valuing the company at €2.9bn, with founder Jesús Encinar retaining his stake and continuing to lead it. It operates offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Elche, Milan, Treviso, Como, Ascoli Piceno, Lisbon, Porto and Aveiro.
