Originally founded in 2015 as SmartMonkey (legal entity SmartMonkey Scalable Computing S.L.) and rebranded to Routal around 2020, it is a seed-stage company serving 500-1,000+ logistics teams in 30+ countries, with customers including Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz and Marfrig. It raised roughly €1M in May 2024 led by HCapital and EIT InnoEnergy to expand in Latin America (notably Mexico) and the US.
