Telomere Therapeutics is a Spanish gene therapy company developing AAV-based telomerase (TERT) therapies to repair telomeres and treat organ fibrosis and telomere-dysfunction syndromes, with a lead program in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and further programs in renal fibrosis, aplastic anemia and dyskeratosis congenita. Founded in 2020 as a spin-off of Spain's National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB/CBATEG), it is based at the Parque Científico de Madrid and is at preclinical/IND-enabling stage. It is backed by Invivo Ventures plus public co-investment (CDTI Innvierte) and grants including a ~€2.3M EIC Accelerator award.
