OODS Protein
ODS Protein is a Galician B2B foodtech/biotech startup that produces alternative protein ingredients by fermenting filamentous fungi on agro-food by-products, valorising food-industry side streams into a mycoprotein ingredient sold under the brand NAWA. The company claims its process uses up to 95% fewer natural resources than conventional protein agriculture and is free of climate dependency; it has moved from pilot validation to an industrial-scale facility in the A Granxa industrial park in O Porriño (Pontevedra) to supply customers with volume. It is a FoodTech 500 company (2022 and 2024), an EIT Food community startup, and was selected for the Incuvi (2019), BFFood, Vía Galicia and StartBEC (2026) programmes. The firm is Galician (Vigo/O Porriño). No priced VC round has been publicly announced; its investor base consists of regional public VC, a corporate partner and angels, plus public grants such as a €231,000 Xunta/Neotec Excellence Recovery award in 2025.
