Correcto is a Madrid-based AI writing assistant for the Spanish language, often described as a 'Grammarly for Spanish'. It offers grammar and style correction and generative writing features through a Chrome extension and web app. The product runs on proprietary models and fine-tuned large language models, is sold on a freemium SaaS model, and is aimed at professionals in publishing, communications and marketing, as well as enterprises. Founded in late 2021, the company reported 120,000 downloads and about 70,000 active users across Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Spain and the United States. After a $1M pre-seed, it raised a $7M (€6.5M) seed round in September 2023, led by Octopus Ventures with participation from Carya Venture Partners and River Park Ventures.
